The small and charming village of Biesowo is located just 11 km from Biskupiec, less than 40 km from Olsztyn, and 36 km from Mrągowo. Its advantage is good access from many directions. The village is surrounded by two lakes – Dadaj to the south and Tejstyny to the north. The national road No. 57 also runs nearby, connecting Bartoszyce with Biskupiec, Szczytno, all the way to Olsztyn-Mazury Airport in Szymany and the border with the Mazowieckie Voivodeship. This beautiful village in Warmia is situated among cultivated fields, at the border of forest complexes. The panorama of Biesowo is characterized by ancient trees, composed with the church tower.
Biesowo has around 300 residents, who can be an example of local community integration. In 2021, Biesowo won the title of “Clean and Beautiful Farm – Aesthetic Village 2021”. This is the third time in the 25-year history of the competition organized by the Association of Warmian-Masurian Municipalities. Together, the residents developed public spaces, renovated information boards, restored a footbridge, created a resting place for cyclists, renovated the pétanque court, and carried out many other works improving the village’s aesthetics. However, Biesowo has even more advantages. It is here that the Warmian Pierogi Feast has been held for several years, during which housewives prepare tens of thousands of pierogi. In the summer, Biesowo is so delicious that people from beyond the Olsztyn district come for the feast.
