– Corporate social responsibility is the foundation of our company’s philosophy. We strive to support initiatives that contribute to societal development and promote values we consider important. For many years, we have been involved in activities that support sports, both at the professional and amateur levels – says Marek Maleszka, president of Dachland and D.DOM.
What emotions accompany the head of a company when signing a sponsorship agreement with a club important to the region?
It’s always a mix of adrenaline and pride. Dachland’s involvement in helping athletes, especially young ones, stems largely from our attachment to the region where we live and work daily. And no one needs convincing that physical activity is the best way to steer young people away from the virtual world and encourage them to put down their smartphones or turn off their tablets.
We renewed our sponsorship agreement with Stomil Olsztyn in July, marking the third season of our partnership with the “Pride of Warmia.” The club is currently playing in the 2nd League and, as we all know, came very close to returning to the 1st League last season. However, I believe this goal can still be achieved this season. Stomil is a team with a rich history and deserves not just promotion to the 1st League but, above all, a place in the Ekstraklasa.
Your company places great emphasis on long-term initiatives.
Yes, because we believe that both in business and sports, determination and lasting cooperation are essential for success, and only long-term commitment can bring desired results.
Moreover, corporate social responsibility is the foundation of our company’s philosophy. From the very beginning, we have aimed to support initiatives that contribute to societal development and promote values we hold dear. For many years, we have been engaged in activities supporting sports, an active lifestyle, and fostering physical culture – both at the professional and amateur levels.
Dachland has also been supporting other clubs from various disciplines for many years. We are sponsors of Pisa Barczewo, currently competing in the district league, and LKS Tyrowo, fighting this season in the WMZPN A-Class. Recently, we also joined the sponsors of the volleyball team Indykpol AZS Olsztyn.
In August, we once again became an official partner of the most prestigious volleyball tournament in the world – the 20th Hubert Jerzy Wagner Memorial. For years, we have also supported the Olsztyn Cycling Center Team, and this year we started sponsoring the 7R ROWMIX TEAM – an MTB cycling team whose riders achieve success not only nationally but internationally.
Do you need to be a sports fan to sponsor a club?
Honestly, in my youth, I didn’t have much to do with sports. I always say I didn’t have time for it (laughs). However, my family is very involved in sports – my brother successfully competes in MTB marathons, one of my sisters trains in wrestling, and the other runs marathons. As for me, I’m a fan – I try to regularly attend Stomil’s matches. It’s a break from everyday life and a way to clear my head.
